Celebrating…with friends and family

Holidays are my favorite. I love them. I love decorating a little bit. Yea, I even make sure to buy at least one box of Franken Berry during Halloween. And I’ve been known to wear occasional Mardi Gras beads for the “parade at work”. Thankfully nothing scandalous happens at this parade. ;)

Watching my girls experience holidays through their new eyes (without the jadedness that life can sometimes can rub off on us). It’s no shocker that I [big puffy heart] surprises. However surprises around any holiday – I melt. Since my girls always love surprises, it is almost a guarantees they will have some sort of surprise on each holiday.

Last weekend, we celebrated July 4th for two days. First day we celebrate with our friend and her family including going to local park to watch the city firework display. Reminded me how lucky we are to have “framily” that love us and include us in holidays too. We are some lucky girls. I definitely thank God that we have the connections and look forward to making more connections like this with people who love the three of us unconditionally.

To be loved…

It is what we all want. Deep down.

With a nod to our holiday tomorrow:

Live with Abandon!

Too many people live not knowing if they truly have tomorrow. Well actually we all don’t know if we have tomorrow, but some of us live like that. Some of us don’t. And I do not want a life changing diagnosis or horrible event to make me realize that I should be living like that.every.single.day.

If God gives me breath to wake up tomorrow morning….

I want to live with abandon.

Enjoy the newsboys making it sound so much better:

Be Brave!

And I MEAN that exclamation point! ;)

Sometimes you need just need to Exclaim It! So that’s what I am encouraging all my peeps to do.

Life really can make you want to hide inside ourselves some days. Days can turn into weeks, weeks into years.

Then you just feel like you’ve lost yourself.

We are all made of stronger stuff than that. God made us. Even David knew: “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” (Psalms 139:14 KJV)

So pull yourself up. Dust yourself off. And be Brave!

Hallelujah Anyhow

My choir (and I’m proud to call them that) ministered to me in a song I’m sure I’ve heard before…but I *heard* it this last time. And man. It was definitely something my soul needed.

I have definitely found myself being too impatient and trying to make things happen because it’s what I wanted. Hey, I know, I know patience is a virtue….actually I believe it (longsuffering) is a fruit of the spirit right? Whichever you prefer to call it, I don’t have enough. Of course, Mom always said don’t pray for it, because God will give it to you. ACK!

So here is me, making this my new mantra to keep me in the spot I need to be in……

Because I definitely believe I would make things even MESSIER than they are….

So…

I’ve come too far to turn around now
I’m gonna stand I’m gonna wait
Watch God work it out somehow
No matter what comes my way
I’ll lift my voice and say
Hallelujah anyhow

In case you want to hear it anointed and not sorta off-pitch and loud that I’m infamous for….lol…Check out Indiana Bible College tear. it. up. (only because I don’t have my choir tearing it up on youtube)

You are welcome! :)

Fitting in…not so much at the moment

Finding happiness

Sometimes you have to find a new way to happiness. Just because everything doesn’t turn out the way you expect doesn’t mean you can’t find some happiness and sunshine and rainbows and such nonsense.

So I’ve debated several times lately about option A or option B. So far I’m hitting the best option 50% of the time. I can only hope my odds will improve and I will keep choosing happiness with as much wisdom as possible.

Because being happy is like breathing.

You don’t develop courage by being happy in your relationships everyday. You develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity. ~Epicurus
